Experience

Anil heads the Advisory team of Nexia AJ . Anil came to Botswana in the year 1993 to join Grant Thornton. He left Grant Thornton to start his own accounting firm in 1998. He started his own practice and was associated with Grant Thronton for further 2 years in handling project financing and consultancy services.

Anil specialises in Transaction Advancing, Debt restructuring , Mergers and acquisitions and business restructuring. He has been instrumental for starting various new projects in Botswana. Anil has extensive experience designing and delivering complex strategic change and business transformation initiatives for the businesses. He has got expert knowledge in industries in the field of manufacturing, cattle farming, horticulture farming, chicken farming, hotel, catering, property investment, trading etc

Before coming to Botswana, Anil worked for 3 years in industry and has been instrumental for setting up projects in India funded by leading financial institutions.

Educational/academic background

Anil completed his B Com form Calicut University in Kerala in 1982. He was qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988 from while working with Varma & Varma , a firm of reputed Chartered Accountants in South India. During his tenure with Varma & Varma, he was responsible for various company audit and Tax Audits..During his stay in India after qualifying for CA, he worked in manufacturing industry in internal audit division. He later on worked as Finance Manager and was responsible for setting up of multidisciplinary hospital in India. He is also a fellow member of Botswana Institute of Accountants and Institute of Chartered Accontants of India.

Jayaram Karumathil

Experience

Jayaram is responsible for ever growing Nexia AJ ’s Assurance, Corporate services and Advisory practice, with a particular focus on owner managed medium sized businesses.

Jayaram’s passion for the accounting profession and international exposure bought Jayaram to Botswana where he joined Grant Thornton July 1994. Jayaram was promoted as Partner at Grant Thornton in January 2002. Jayaram was heading the Audit Assurance and Specialised Accounting Services before he left the firm in August 2008.

Jayaram has built up wealth of experience providing assurance services to large variety of high profile clients. He also consults on governance , risk management, new business set up, due diligence, group restructuring etc. He also has specialised experience auditing and evaluating controls structures and also advises on IFRS reporting. He has attended various training courses in Audit methodology locally and internationally.

Educational/academic background

Jayaram completed his schooling and graduated Cum Laude in Commerce from University of Calicut, in 1987. His interest in the accounting profession inspired him to take up the chartered accountancy course. Jayaram completed his formal training in the profession from a reputed firm of chartered accountants. Jayaram was successfully admitted as an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in May 1993. Jayaram is a Fellow member of Botswana Institute of Chartered accountants.

Venkata Subba Rao Paluri

Venkata Subba Rao Paluri is in charge for our new Francistown Branch. Over the years he has developed a very good clientele, and has been acting as a trusted advisor for number of wealthy people and companies in Francistown

Paluri came to Botswana in the year 1994 to serve as an Executive and took over the company from the existing owners in the year 2001.

Paluri is a respected accounting professional with a wealth of experience in the areas of areas Business Analysis, Financial Consultancy, Business / Finance Modelling, Accounts, Auditing, MIS, and Statutory Compliances. He is an holder of certificate in SAP F1 and also holds a certificate in IFRS from ACCA

Paluri completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Osmania University in the year 1984. He completed his articleship from a reputed firm in Hyderabad in the year 1988. Paluri was successfully admitted as an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in May 1992. Paluri is a Fellow member of Botswana Institute of Chartered accountants and holder of audit certificate.

Akhil Harindranath

Presently associated with Nexia AJ (NEXIA AJ (Proprietary) Limited and NEXIA AJ & Associates and AAA Consultants (Proprietary) Limited in the capacity of Director, he have been the pioneer for the start of our firm’s Assurance services He is responsible for client liaison, team management, assignment completion for the audit division. Our firm engages in offering top- notch services for the spectrum consisting of Audit Assurance, Accounting, Taxation, Project Financing, Business Advisory, Specialized Financial Services and Corporate Services.

Akhil has a wealth of experience in providing guidance on IFRS reporting and International Standards on Auditing. He has a strong proficiency in assisting companies in preparing their financial statements in accordance with the IFRS, and possesses a deep understanding of the various auditing requirements set by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board. Akhil offers professional and tailored assurance services to assorted high profile clients.
